The Dx3 conference runs March 8-9 at the Metro Toronto Convention Center. Yappn will be hangin’ with our buddies at Microsoft and a few other friends. Please stop by Booth 321 and look for us around the Microsoft sign.
Dx3, which has been an annual part of the Toronto business scene for the past six years, is a combination technology lab, networking event, learning, and new products and services exhibition. Major brands and agencies will be there and of course retailers exploring the latest ‘n’ greatest in clicks ‘n’ bricks. One of the keynote speakers last year orated on why physical store commerce was not dead despite the claims of Netscape (remember them?) founder Marc Andreesen. This year, we’ll hear from IBM Chief Innovation Officer Warren Tomlin on why leaders need to be ‘bilingual’ in the ‘languages’ of business and technology. On Day 2 Pinterest’s Head of Global Marketing Eric Edge will keynote on how to better inspire people to move to action, always of keen interest to marketing and sales departments everywhere. Those are just two of a terrific lineup of speakers who will appear over the course of both days.
There will be about 100 Dx3 exhibitors with visitor projections expected to be around 4,000. While some vendors will beat the brick-and-mortar drum, Yappn will bring a multicultural, multilingual flavor to the event with our super-efficient enhanced language translation software. Our specialty is the world of eCommerce – clicks rather than bricks – and we can show you how to support your ESL (English as a Second Language) speakers better and also to tap into the hidden revenue potential by identifying and attracting them in the first place.
We partnered with Microsoft recently to bring Traditional and Simplified Chinese to the websites of Asian mega-retailer Reebonz in 11 languages. We’ll be talking about that and the work we’re doing for other eCommerce providers, along with spreading the message about the importance of localizing in an increasingly global world, where sometimes the foreign language speakers are literally right outside your door.
So again we say, stop by and check us out! We never shut up about languages, language translation, machine translation, wildfire Asian eCommerce growth and how we’re going to help the world communicate better. Yes, we know what you really think about machine translation. It’s not just the mass of gibberish we’ve all come to expect from programming machines to try and speak human. Machine translation has made some pretty impressive leaps just in the last six months. So not only do you have to be fluent in business and technology but you also need to express those ideas to people who don’t speak your language.
Yappn Corp enhances commodity-based machine translation to a higher level of accuracy, reflecting specific commercial and social requirements. For more information please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at +1.905.763.3510 x246.
